A touch panel is a device that allows a user to interact with a computer by directly touching the screen. Integrating functionality into the monitor, such as a sensor that detects touch movements, can give instructions to the computer by letting it sense the position of a finger or stylus. Essentially, it becomes a device that combines both display and input functions.
This may not be what we think of often, but touch panels have been integrated into every aspect of our lives.
apacitive touch screen technology is our most interactive style. This is the kind of display we see on smartphone, laptop and tablet screens.
Capacitive screens are made of multiple layers of glass and plastic and coated with conductor materials such as indium tin oxide or copper. This conductive material responds when it comes into contact with another electrical conductor, such as your bare finger. When you touch the screen, a circuit is formed at the point where your finger touches, changing the charge at that location. Your device registers this information as a “touch event”.
Once a touch event is registered, the screen’s receiver sends this event to the operating system, prompting your device to respond. This is the application interface for your experience.
Capacitive touchscreens generally have a brighter, sharper appearance and are much more sensitive than resistive touchscreens. We tend to see capacitive touchscreens in more modern technologies like smartphones and tablets. They allow us to experience high-quality images that mimic reality.
With social media so integrated into our lives, we are constantly sharing and experiencing life through our devices. Use the latest capacitive touchscreen to easily interact with high-quality applications.
